**Please note that we are not operating as usual on Mon Feb 20th & Tues Feb 21st – due to there being no school! If your child is currently scheduled on either of these days, please notify the front desk what time you would like to your child to be seen – or if you would like to take a break! Again we will NOT be keeping our current schedule – YOU MUST SIGN YOUR CHILD UP FOR THERAPY TO BE SEEN! Available times will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, as we will only be staffing one therapist per service.

Holiday Ornaments:
½ cup cinnamon
½ cup applesauce
1 teaspoon white school glue

Let your child mix the cinnamon, applesauce and glue in a bowl, or if they refuse to touch the mixture, in a plastic Ziploc baggie.

Roll the mixture out on a cookie sheet or waxed paper, about ½ inch thick.

Press cookie cutters into the thick/ fragrant dough.

With a toothpick, poke a generous hole near the top of each ornament.

Place the ornaments on a cookie rack and let them dry for 12 hours.

Thread pretty ribbon through the holes and hang the ornaments on the tree!

 Blending of ingredients with the hands is beneficial “messy play” for the tactile system. Using both hands on a rolling pin develops bilateral coordination. Pushing and pulling the rolling pin over the dough improves proprioception and grading of movement. Poking holes in the ornaments and threading ribbon through them promotes hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Smelling the fragrant mixture informs the olfactory sense.

      The Art of Your Potential featuring Bob Upgren!

Location: Horizon Middle School Cafetorium

The Art of Your Potential  is a Social Key fundraiser in which all proceeds go towards the Social Key Grant, and other opportunities to help families of children with special needs.

This will be a day of inspiration and celebration of children with special needs, their families and the community that supports them.

Tickets are $10 per person/$15 per couple and can be purchased in advance at Red Door Pediatric Therapy or at Horizon on the day of the event.

Proceeds will go towards our sister non-profit, Social Key. 

Social Key helps to raise money for families who have kids with special needs – we have a scholarship fund for families to apply for financial assistance with therapies, supplements, social groups, trips out of state to specialists, etc, etc.

We would love to see you all there  (you have to eat anyway, so do it for a great cause!)
